ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION
Honoring Scott Bedford’s legacy by empowering local students through annual scholarships and community-driven support.
Carrying Forward a Legacy of Leadership, Service, and Education
The Coach Bedford Memorial Golf Tournament is more than just a day on the green — it’s a heartfelt celebration of two extraordinary lives: Scott Bedford and Michael “Zini” Ziniewicz. Both men were proud lifelong residents of Schuylkill County who exemplified the very best of community spirit, compassion, and leadership. Scott, a graduate of Minersville Area High School and Bloomsburg University, and Mike, an alumnus of Pottsville High School, were more than just friends and family — they were mentors, role models, and pillars of their communities.
What began as a small memorial gathering has grown into a powerful annual tradition — one that not only honors their legacies but also creates lasting impact. Through the unwavering support of our sponsors, players, donors, and volunteers, the Coach Bedford Memorial Education Fund has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to graduating students from Minersville Area High School, Nativity BVM High School, and the Schuylkill Technology Center. These scholarships help local youth pursue college and trade school opportunities — opening doors and shaping brighter futures.
